Jozi Movie: laugh at oncoming trucks
Jozi follows James, a successful comedy writer who feels overwhelmed by crime, politics, pessimism and a feather duster salesman. When his girlfriend leaves him for a guy who he thinks is the most boring man in the world, he loses the very spark of humour which enables him to earn his living.
In a madcap journey, James becomes a drug addict, then recovers and escapes from Daspoort Rehab, and returns to Johannesburg to try and recover his elusive sense of humour as well as his ability to love and laugh again.
Although Jozi is a screamingly funny comedy, it has a very clear philosophy. It is about finding the positive in difficult times. Allowing yourself to make connections with the people and the place you live. Being defined by the positive experiences not the negative ones. And most of all learning to laugh, laugh and laugh.
Jozi will be released in cinemas across South Africa later this year through United International Pictures.
