Xingwana was accompanied by hip-hop artist Shugamakx, who is part of the procession along with fellow artists Arthur, Chomee and Slikour.
By 11am, the stage was set, with diski dancers, who had been handing out free South African flags, readying themselves to entertain the crowd.
The People's Bus provides an interactive 10-minute tour that includes team trivia, foosball table fun and a mini cinema showing unforgettable moments from previous tournaments. On leaving the bus, fans can write good luck messages for their team on a message board.
